St Joseph's Laurieton Presents Lego Masters 2022

Voting for the 2023 Lego Masters Competition commenced today! Students, parents, grandparents and teachers are invited to cast ONE vote for their favourite entry. Voting closes Thursday afternoon, with the winner to be announced at the Friday afternoon assembly in Week 1. Lego creations are on display in the hall on the stage!

This year, we had 19 entries, with 43 participants working very hard for the duration of Term 3 to create their entries. Two winning teams will be announced- one team will receive the Popular Vote Award (as voted by our community), and another team will win the Grand Champion Award, taking home the highly coveted 'golden brick'. Grand Champions are determined by a panel of judges that will award points based on technical skill, aesthetic appeal and storyline.

Good luck to all our Lego Masters!

Operation Christmas Child 2023

Dear Families,

Operation Christmas Child (OCC) is a project of Samaritan’s Purse. It partners with local churches in developing nations to reach out to children by providing gift-filled shoeboxes and bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ. After receiving shoebox gifts, many children are also invited back to participate in The Greatest Journey – an evangelism and discipleship program.

Our Parish is running an Operation Christmas Child drive again this year. Interested families can nominate to take one or more shoeboxes to fill.

For more information or to pack a box online, please go to this link. https://www.samaritanspurse.org.au/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/

If you would like to take a box home, please indicate the quantity you would like, and we will send them home. They must be returned to school by the 29th of September with the $12.50 postage.

Kind regards,

Maria Wilson and Carlie Dedal
