Expressions of Interest- New Playground Committee!
We are excited to announce that St Joseph’s, along with the School Community Group, is beginning the process of planning and fundraising for a new playground (subject to all approvals). Our goal is to remove and replace both the infants' and Primary playgrounds in 2026. For this to occur, we are calling for volunteers to join and contribute to a committee.
As this is a large project, we will require volunteers to nominate to be a part of one of two different teams. The responsibilities of each team are outlined below.
The Playground Design and Implementation Team will:
- Work with the school, parish and other stakeholders to define the scope of work for the playground.
- Work with students, staff and parents to ascertain the wants/needs of the playground.
- Work with the school to define a budget.
- Research with other schools that have installed playgrounds recently to avoid pitfalls
- Work with playground companies to design a playground that suits our school's needs and finalise quotes.
- Work with the school, SCG and playground company to deliver the project within budget.
- Seek grants if appropriate
The Playground Fundraising Team will:
- Work with the school and Playground Design Team to define a Fundraising Goal for the new Playground (e.g.$20,000-40,000)
- Research Fundraisers and work with the school to decide on Fundraisers that will bring in enough money.
- Promote the purpose of the fundraiser with the school and community
- Work with the school to adhere to school fundraising requirements
- Lead the Major fundraiser/s and enlist other families to help
- Work with the school to seek other financial support (if appropriate)
If you are interested in joining one or both teams, please complete THIS GOOGLE FORM by Friday, 23 May. Members of each team can nominate themselves for various levels of involvement. Even if you are only available to contribute ideas or may be able to take on some of the group's actions, we would love you to be a part of the process.
We are looking forward to working with you on this exciting endeavour!
